Job Description

We are currently working with a Demolition and Grouwndworks company in Fareham, Hampshire who are looking to expand their team due to growth.  Our client is a small business at present with big plans over the next 5 years with views to making people that join the team now Sharehlders/Directors within this timescale. The role of Junior Quantity Surveyor will include an element of pre contract estimating & take-off for tendering and cost plans, site visits for measurements, preparations of bills and quantities.  You will also be responsible for Post-contract work including the following:  Assisting the director with preparations of valuations  Drafting particulars of sub contractor agreements Procurement of materials and plant required for projects updating cash flow on project creating final accounts Attend site meetings when required Requirements As a Junior Quantity Surveyor your main skills, attitude and experience will include the following:  Proactive work ethic with a can-do attitude. The ability to assist other members of the team as and when required (Our client is a small business that require all hands on deck!)  A recent graduate or someone working towards their QS qualification.  Fantastic communication skills. Ability to work on own initiative without constant hand holding.  Looking at the bigger picture to see where the business is headed and to hold this at the forefront of your mind.  Previous experience within a QS role ideally in civil engineering and/or demolition.  Great ability to build rapport with stakeholders, sub contractors, clients and suppliers.  A strong existing network of contacts within the construction industry.  Commercially minded - forward thinking for the business.
