A tier one civil engineering contractor are recruiting a Works Manager to join their growing Southern team. Initially you'll be working on a £30 million road widening and multiple bridge replacement project for Highways England. The initial works are due to commence in March 2021 however they are looking to get the successful candidate to assist in hiring the Foreman and Supervisors for the project. The project consists of widening a main trunk road, utility diversions and the demolition and re-build of 2no road bridges over the main carriageway.
The business have security in their workload with an orderbook that can guarantee local work until 2025. Following the completion of this project you'll have the opportunity to work on a major highways project in Hampshire reconfiguring a busy motorway junction (c£100m) or a road widening and 2no bridge replacement project (c£25m).
*Managing the team of General Foreman & Supervisors
*Working with the Project Manager to update the programme and advise the client with progress
*Promote the highest levels of health and safety throughout the project and to your team
*Liaise with Senior Management, the client and external stakeholders
*Ensure your work force is working safely, effectively and efficiently
*Ensure risk assessments and method statements and being adhered to
The business are tier one working across the UK in highways, marine, airports, rail and building. They have a strong presence on the South Coast with projects planned for local authorities, Highways England and private sector clients
