ESTIMATING ROLE - NORTH EAST - RESIDENTIAL🌟🌟🌟
My Client, a Five-star house builder is looking for a Senior Estimator / Estimator to join their Washington office.
Principle Accountabilities:
• Gain specialist quotations such as demolition / asbestos removal to remove the risk from land viabilities
• Prepare initial viabilities for all land bids for sign off by Commercial / Technical Director
• Where full viabilities are required, they are to comply with the provisions set out within the Group Guidelines on Viabilities, Budgets and Valuations
• Liaise with Land Department over current and future development opportunities and attending Land Review Meetings
• Maintain records of current and historic costings, ensuring that live data is accurately fed back into the process
• Prepare cost estimates for housing association sites including preparation of contractors’ proposals and administration and agreement of contract documentation • Assist the Commercial team with the preparation of pre-budget costs for sites
• Assist with review of Site Budget and Analysis of Variance reports that are required for issue of site budgets in accordance with Group Guidelines on Viabilities, Budgets and Valuations
• Collate and submit statistical analysis as required
• Provide guidance to the commercial teams as required at handover stage of project
Person Specification:
• Liaise with other departments as required
• Assist Commercial/Technical Director with the running of Employers Agents where main contractors are utilised to construct developments under a Design and Build contract
• Represent my client professionally in both personal appearance and conduct
• Mentor, manage and motivate junior team members
Person Specification
• Experience working as an Estimator / Senior Quantity, estimating proposed costs / costs to complete
• Good knowledge of cost control systems and valuation reporting
• Experience of managing Housing Association contracts
• Knowledge of building regulations and NHBC standards Qualifications and training
• Qualified as a Quantity Surveyor with a related degree or HNC/HND in a built environment subject with relevant experience
