Job Title: HGV Maintenance Fitter - Waste Management
Employer: Our client is a well-established waste management company, seeking an experienced Heavy Plant Fitter to join their team.
Package:
Salary: £18-£19 per hour with pension benefits (Permanent position)
Working Hours: 6:30 AM - 4:30 PM, 40 hours per week (contracted)
Overtime available with Saturday paid at time and a half and Sunday at double time
Location: Cardiff

ROLE:
As an HGV Maintenance Fitter, your responsibilities will encompass a fleet of HGVs. You'll work on planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules and handle maintenance, servicing, and repairs for various machinery. Timely completion of relevant checks and fixtures is crucial, as is your capability to identify faults and manage all aspects of machine maintenance. You'll work both independently and as part of a team while ensuring strict compliance with health and safety protocols and company procedures.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
To excel in this role, you must have experience as a Heavy Plant Fitter or Multiskilled Mechanical Maintenance Fitter in a heavy industry setting. Ideally, you'll also have prior exposure to working on HGVs, including expertise in hydraulics and pneumatics. Possession of an engineering apprenticeship is preferred, along with qualifications as a Certified Mechanical Engineer, Plant Fitter, or Maintenance Technician (C&G/NVQ/HNC, etc.). Any electrical qualifications or experience would be advantageous, and welding qualifications, though not mandatory, are also desirable. You should be either time-served or qualified in your chosen field, such as Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Technician, to the level of C&G/NVQ/HNC/HND.
