Small, dynamic and successful design consultancy are looking to appoint a key player for their team. You must be a versatile and hungry individual, who has high standards, can turn their hand to all sorts, demonstrates technical excellence and enjoys networking with clients. The firm is so busy they are having to turn away work. They currently have 6 staff and will be likely to expand to perhaps 8-10 in the future. They have FIStructE and MIStructE qualified staff and give excellent support for Chartership.
They are unusual in that they work on so many different types of projects, including both temporary and permanent works design. Examples include design of basements, large demolition works, hotels, refurbishments, new buildings for commercial and retail, examination and advising on dangerous structures, multi storey new builds, CAT 2 and 3 sign offs and leisure projects and subsidence works among others.
Clients are very varied and include Property Funds firms, Housing Associations, architects and developers.
The work will include surveys, report writing, temporary works and permanent works design.
You must be able to run your own projects and turn your hand to all sorts, including marketing and networking with clients, fee proposals and assisting improving internal processes. You should be keen to manage more junior staff and help drive the business forward.
You must have a CV that demonstrates variety of work, design in all the main materials and a hunger to succeed within a small business. A minimum of 5 years structural design experience in required, covering both permanent and temporary works design.
