Job Description

Our client is one of the largest and most respected technically qualified remediation contractors in the UK. They encompass remediation design, all the readily available and commercially viable remediation technologies, major earthworks, groundworks, civil engineering and also landfill construction. Projects range in value from tens of thousands to multi million pounds and are undertaken all over the UK. The role The role of Environmental Engineer is a multi-disciplined role to provide technical engineering support on the full range of remediation projects undertaken by the company. You will be required to interact with all elements of project and site management including technical, operational, commercial and health and safety. You will become involved with all types of remediation schemes from initial design and mobilisation through to delivery and completion. Responsibilities will assume a combination of office and site based activities. Key responsibilities * Compilation of technical reports, Deployment Forms for Environmental Permits, Validation reports etc as required in the implementation of company projects. * Provide technical support and management of remediation schemes, this will entail a wide variety of technologies and applications as the company does not subcontract any remediation works. * Design and complete Phase 1 and Phase 2 site investigations. * Undertake environmental monitoring and sampling, including sampling and liaison with testing laboratories. * Undertake environmental risk assessments for human health and controlled waters using appropriate software packages (appropriate training will be provided as required). * Complete IMS and contract documentation applicable to their tasks and contract requirements. * Comply with all company Health & Safety and IMS procedures and, applicable legislation. * Liaise with clients, suppliers and regulators as required during live projects or during tendering. Qualifications/ experience * Relevant degree * One to two years + experience in relevant field * Experience in site investigations (trial pitting, logging, drilling, etc).and interpretation of site investigation data. * Experience in environmental monitoring. * Experience in collating of verification data including the use of GIS. * Site based remediation experience. * Knowledge of and experience with environmental regulations. * Relevant CSCS qualification. * Full driving license.
