About The Role
Morrison Energy Services is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to work on our UK Power Networks Alliance and SSEN Framework contracts in Southern England.
As a Quantity Surveyor you will be part of our Commercial team and will work closely with project managers, planners and site delivery teams to improve cost efficiency and create an environment of out performance.
Morrison Energy Services is proud to be a key partner in the UKPN Alliance and SSEN Framework, delivering substation build and refurbishment works across the East of England including design, project management, cable installation, building construction, jointing, switchgear, bunding, commissioning, decommissioning and demolition.
As the Quantity Surveyor your responsibilities will include:
Assisting with the control of costs, maximising value, minimising and accurately forecasting cost whilst maintaining the required standard of quality and safety
Compiling, reviewing and submitting Applications for Payment to our client(s)
Assisting with establishing clients’ requirements for projects
Performing risk management, value management and cost control
Advising on and administering project procurement strategy
Allocating work to subcontractors and administering subcontracts
The measure and re-measure of subcontractor applications
Contract administration including:
Identifying and notifying Early Warnings and Compensation Events
Pricing, notifying and negotiating Compensation Event Quotations
Supporting the project team by providing advice on contractual change items
Completing monthly Cost Value Reconciliations and reporting to the project team and Managing Quantity Surveyor
Working collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth running of commercial team
Maintain a good working relationship with the client and client’s commercial representatives
Working to M Group's values of being honest and open with the client at all times Skills & Knowledge Requirement
Previous Quantity Surveying experience
Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or other relevant business discipline an advantage
Utilities experience is desirable
Experience of the NEC form of contract is desirable
Ability to lead, motivate and develop others
Good knowledge of MS Office including Excel
Experience of managing and placing of subcontracts
Experience of completing monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
Knowledge and experience of Purchase Ledgers
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
A full Driving License and willingness to travel within the contract areaAdditional Information
