Job Description

We are currently working with an established company based in Central London, who delivers a diverse works of subcontract services such as Structural Alterations and Demolition, Groundworks and Drainage, Structural Steelwork, Composite Flooring, Landscaping and External Works, Screeding, and Diamond Drilling. Our client is looking for an experienced Buyer to join their team. Candidates must have experience within a Buying role, and be able to reliably commute to Central London. Position Overview - Buyer Responsible for the calculation of required materials and ordering from suppliers and subcontractors Working with the Finance Director to ensure that financial statements are up to date and accurate Advise on procurement strategy Manage relationships with key suppliers to negotiate prices, maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts Drafting and managing service level agreements where applicable Negotiate rebate rates Be expected to use knowledge about suppliers to execute strategies, create leverage, and mitigate risks Send out and review tender enquiry packages to suppliers Review and Liaise with Architects and Engineers on supplier designs Ensuring Redsky is kept up to date with Budgets, Orders and reporting on variances Further responsibilities to be discussed at interview stagePosition Requirements - Buyer At least 5 years experience in a similar role. Ability to plan and execute project timelines for assigned product categories. Understanding or aptitude to learn the different products and how the Construction team work with these products. Communication - communicates clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. Adaptable - identify work priorities and manage own workload, able to change with business needs. Customer orientation - establishes and maintains long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectations. Interpersonal skills - able to work effectively with others and establish positive relationships with employees and external parties. PC skills - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and others as required; able to adapt to and learn new systems. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of organisational policies procedures and systems; experience of change management.
