Job Description

Job Title: Site Quantity Surveyor Location: School Project, Pocklington, near York Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced M&E Site Quantity Surveyor to join our clients team for a school project in Pocklington, near York. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the quantity surveying aspects of the project on-site, ensuring the successful delivery of the project within budgetary constraints and the project is due to run until April 2026. The works programme is to build brand new buildings on the campus, to hand them over to the school, and then to demolish and build new ones and until the site compound is up and running, the candiate can work from on of two Leeds situated offices. The MEP site works with start later this year and you will be supported by a site Senior QS and a visiting comemrcial trainee based in the region. Key Responsibilities: Manage all quantity surveying activities on-site, including but not limited to measurement, valuation, and agreement of work sections. Ensure accurate cost forecasting and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. Liaise closely with the senior management team to provide commercial support and advice. Manage subcontractors and the accounts, including the valuation of variations and agreement of final accounts. Collaborate with the project team to identify and mitigate commercial risks. Ensure compliance with relevant contractual requirements and company procedures. Support the development and implementation of cost control procedures. Assist with the preparation of tender documentation and subcontract procurement. Sequencing the work on new buildings and demolitions of old. Requirements: Minimum of 3 years' experience in a standalone quantity surveying role, preferably in a building services environment. Experience managing small to medium-sized projects, with a track record of delivering projects within budgetary constraints. Strong understanding of contracts, JCT design & build and commercial management principles. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships. Proficiency in relevant software applications, such as Microsoft Excel and industry-specific quantity surveying software. Relevant qualifications in quantity surveying or a related field are desirable. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required. Full driving license and willingness to travel to site locations as necessary.
