Job Title: Electrical Design & Compliance Engineer
Location: South Yorkshire Office
Salary: £34k (Negotiable depending on experience)
TSA MET are an established specialist recruitment agency focusing within the Mining, Energy and Transport Industries, operating across all stages of a project.
The client, (who offers mobile solutions and a comprehensive range of equipment to the quarrying, mining, construction, demolition and recycling industries) is expanding their team and as such needs an Electrical Design Engineer to assist with their day to day operations.
The ideal candidate will be able to provide electrical designs and compliance to the latest standards for various electrical control panels for the business, with previous knowledge of LV and HV distribution equipment within rail, oil & gas, electrical and industrial sectors being a benefit.
Duties will include:
Design Electrical products within required timescales
Production of general arrangement drawings, single line and schematic diagrams of control panels
Comply with all company policies, regulations and procedures including H&S
Assist the production department as and when required whilst control panel build is being progressed
Assist the service department as and when required with the design of upgrade opportunities for legacy equipment
Be the point of contact in the compilation of all Technical Files and Operating Manuals
Advise and assist the company as and when required in complying with all relevant technical standards, e.g. machinery directive, Low Voltage Directive and EMC Directive
Create part numbers and structure products on time without errors
Experience/Qualifications required:
Electrical engineering qualification or equivalent
Knowledge/experience in the design of electrical control panels and motor control from customer specifications
Previous experience in the design of MV Distribution and Switchboards up to and including 11KV
Familiarity with British Standards and Regulations
Previous experience with Network Rail distribution systems (ASP’s and PSP’s)
ATEX Directive Hazardous area regulations knowledge
Experience of working in a project-based environment
