My client are a top 3 sub-contractor that turnover in excess of £100million, now requiring a Senior Buyer.
They work across all industry sectors including commercial office, education, healthcare, aviation and mixed use, as well high-end residential projects in excess of 25 storeys.
The biggest project is currently on site in excess of £35million.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Working with project teams, purchasing materials and plant to the company's requirements
Contribute to projects from their inception, being fully conversant with the operational scope and cost plan of a project, maximising efficiency's and driving out hidden costs where possible
Review the material budgets and cost codes issued by the Estimator and ensure these are entered in the correct phases
Manage the enquiry process for materials and plant, collate and analyse quotations
Ensure all projects have a current procurement plan and that the procurement activities are managed in line with the programme requirements
All orders/sub-contracts are placed with clear terms and conditions appropriate to each package of work
Manage the tender process for packages of work, ensuring the business achieves best value and compliant offer on each occasion
Ensure all orders are placed to the required specification and in accordance with the company procedures, ensuring they are clear, concise and with a stated value; consolidating purchase to achieve maximum economic benefit
My client would look at a procurement specialist from all walks of sub-contract background from roofing & cladding, facades, scaffolding, demolition and plant to name a few.
Depending on experience, my client would look to pay up to £65k plus generous package for the right person
