£75,000 - £95,000 yearly
Barking, Greater London
Senior Quantity Surveyor
RC Frame & Groundwork Subcontractor
East London Projects x 3
£75,000 - £95,000 per annum + full package + bonuses
About the Role:
I am looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a Concrete Frame and Groundwork subcontractor who although based in Surrey are looking for someone to operate around East London.
This role will involve the usual senior surveyor duties (i.e. taking projects from start to final account making sure budgets are maintained and profit levels are maximised while reporting any necessary changes) on reinforced concrete (RC) frame packages and associated groundwork & foundation packages.
If successful you will report to the company’s commercial director and will be responsible for initially 3 lives packages with further work in the region starting soon. The initial three packages range in value from £10m to £25m.
Individual package values for future / further work could range from £5 million up to £40 million each.
Candidates must be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management and must have experience in this role while working for rival RC frame or groundwork subcontractors.
About the Company:
Established over 25 years ago and based out of their head office in Surrey, this £130 million turnover business specialises in Concrete Frames, Groundworks and Basement Construction. With satellite offices in the South West and Midlands they have a strong coverage of projects with package values ranging from £5 million up to £40 million each (currently), covering the residential, commercial, leisure and education sectors. We have been preferred suppliers to this company for over 10 years and maintain a strong relationship with all the directors of the business.
What sets this business apart is their focus on safety and rewarding their staff;
The MD takes an active role in the safety department making sure it is at the forefront of everything they do, not only to please clients but most importantly to make sure every person goes home safely at the end of every day. He is proud to stand by their safety record and the constant measures they take to maintain and improve this department.
In addition to safety, the focus on rewarding their staff is demonstrated in the constant career development that is offered and the targeted bonus structures that are in place for all the management and surveying / commercial teams. For instance, bonuses are several thousand pound and are paid twice a year. These are measured on a quarterly basis based on certain key performance indicators. This gives each individual a real gauge of what they have to do to earn each bonus and it is worth pointing out, most management and commercial team members are hitting above 80% of their bonus. This is a simple example of how targeted, clear reward structures benefit the individual but also the company as a whole.
About the Requirements:
The requirements for this role are fairly straight forward;
We can only consider individuals who have experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor for Concrete Frame subcontractors in the UK. Our client only wants to consider individuals from a rival company background.
Based on the location settings, this role would ideally suit someone based in or around East London that have the ability to travel in and around that area.
And due to the technical nature of this role, it is also crucial that all applicants are degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
About the Salary / Rewards:
For the right person our client is looking to offer a market leading package including a strong salary or rate with added benefits.
If PAYE paid you can expect a basic salary ranging from £75,000 to £95,000 depending on your experience, plus a car allowance, full benefits and a targeted project related bonus.
If self-employed, day rates range around £300 to £400 per day and you will be covered for travel costs and you will also be given project related bonuses.
How to Apply:
I am more than happy to discuss this opportunity with people over the phone or face to face in a fully confidential manner. This is an incestuous sector and I fully understand the importance of keeping things discrete.
Alternatively, it would be ideal to see a copy of your CV to understand your previous experience and employment. In line with GDPR, nothing will be done with your CV / details until we have discussed the role in detail anyway, but having gained an understanding of your formal past, this may help when we come to talk and discuss the option.
