To support this vision, EDF has established the Cyclife Group to deliver commercial decommissioning and waste services in the market. Cyclife currently has four business lines covering: Consultancy, Site Projects, Waste Treatment and Decommissioning via a nuclear-licensed waste treatment facility in Cumbria and international facilities in Sweden and France. The role Primarily reporting to the Head of Decommissioning and Technical Managers, you will be: * Delivering the project/programme of work in a safe manner to the specified functional criteria, goals and objectives, compliant with appropriate legislation, procedures and within the approved baseline, scope, cost, schedule and quality requirements. * Providing Technical Knowledge and support to the development of the decommissioning programmes of our customers, taking a waste led approach to identify the best value options. * Applying the company project controls standards and developing, maintaining, reporting and trending an accurate project baseline. * Delivering successful decommissioning projects. Principal accountabilities * Working as part of a team to deliver Strategic Decommissioning Planning to customers. * Project delivery including Decommissioning Scenario Planning, preparation to entry into Care and Maintenance and/ or reactor dismantling activities * Early identification of issues and/or concerns that either have the potential or will impact the project baseline. * Providing accurate and timely information, data and reports regarding the project status, activities and performance. Main responsibilities Technical Delivery * Suitable relevant project experience within engineering/construction projects. This needs to include relevant experience in the design, installation, commissioning decommissioning and/ or deplanting, of equipment in a highly regulated, operational environment. Experience of working in the decommissioning market and with Magnox and the NDA is a strong advantage. * Suitable relevant technical experience including the preparation of technical documentation, the review and approval of technical proposals and procedures, and a strong knowledge of the UK regulatory context. * Suitable experience of gas-cooled reactor design and operation * Engineering design and management experience * Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation including Construction Design Management and Health and Safety at Work Act - preferable with IOSH & NEBOSH quals is an advantage * Familiar with common engineering drawings and design documentation. * Good organisational and time management skills. Project Management * Environmental and quality standards, company procedures and policies and other relevant legislative and regulatory requirements. * Applying the company project controls standards and developing, maintaining, reporting and trending an accurate project baseline. * Providing technical expertise to projects from concept to close out within a gated project management process, and maintaining effective integrated project execution strategies and plans * Meeting the specified project functional criteria. Experience, skills and knowledge * Relevant University degree or equivalent qualification and relevant work experience in an appropriate discipline of at least 5 years * Previous experience of delivering projects in the Decommissioning market in the UK or internationally (ideally gas-cooled reactors). * Previous involvement in nuclear decontamination, deplanting, dismantling and demolition activities * Experience of facilities shutdown/ Post Operational Clean out * Good understanding of the needs of quality and how quality is assured and controlled. * Experience in the production of detailed decommissioning plans, costings and technical studies. * Thorough understanding and knowledge of the Nuclear Industry and Decommissioning * Relevant experience of commercial, contractual and financial project drivers. Experience of fast-track projects and project start up with multiple work streams requiring rapid development to a conclusion. * Current certification in IOSH and CDM Regulations would be an advantage * Leadership, influencing and interface management skills and be capable of working with stakeholders with conflicting focuses. * Familiar with the use of estimating, scheduling, programming and risk tools
