About the company
My client is a privately owned specialist sub-contractor who specialise in Civil Engineering/infrastructure, rail, and demolition. The projects they work on have a great variety and vary within cost, ranging from £620,000 up to £30M. They work within the private and public sectors working with well-respected Main Contractors such as Volkerfitzpatrick, Bam Nuttall, and Balfour Beatty. As well as having a brilliant selection of clients they have also worked on a great selection of projects such as Crossrail, Thameslink, Hinckley Point, HS2, and BBC television studios. Over the past year, they have continued to tender hard and have generated a very strong pipeline of work. Because of their hard work and quality, this has opened up an opportunity for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join their dedicated and skillful commercial team.
About the opportunity
This is a superb, diverse, and exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a growing contractor on rail, heavy civil engineering, and infrastructure projects. It sounds like a nice spread of sectors doesn’t it? Despite working within a mixture of sectors you will predominately be working on NEC contracts as well as occasionally working on JCT contracts. You will be working with some of the most respected Main Contractors within the industry, the project values will range from £1M - £30M. The types of works you will work on will range from steel fabrications, RC works, groundworks, shafts, and piling. As well as having ongoing, continuous and thorough support from the Commercial Manager and Project Manager you will also be looking after a small team of Assistants, helping them grow, develop and improve.
About the requirements
To be considered for this role I’m looking for someone who’s worked on heavy Civil Engineering projects as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor or specialist sub-contractor, based in the UK. Ideally, you would have had exposure to steel fabrications, RC works, groundworks, earthworks, and piling. With regards to education, I’m looking for someone who is degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying degree or Civil Engineering degree. Finally, I need I’m looking for someone with good stability on their CV, ideally around 3 years per company.
