Job Description

Deputy Project Manager – AWE – Burghfield   A great opportunity for a Deputy Project Management Professional to help deliver NEC 3 Option C contracts within a highly regulated industry with exemplary safety standards, on time and to budget whilst providing a high level of customer satisfaction. Key Activities Demonstrating Safety Leadership by delivering the programme safely, ensuring that all EHS&Q requirements are met in all projects Delivering each of the projects to the criteria set within the gated approval Build effective project teams and manage resources ensuring that adequate levels are maintained to ensure the schedule is met and high workforce productivity is maintained throughout Assess projects in programmes of work for viability, priority and required resources to maximise the success of the programme Ensuring adequate project controls are set up, employed and managed for all aspects of project control across the programme Produce and implement the programme delivery plan Ensuring that at each stage of the gated lifecycle is completed in line with requirements and controlled throughout each section Ensuring that suitable commercial control is in place and managed according to client procedures Managing the performance of key suppliers and subcontractors ensuring appropriate commercial arrangements are applied Ownership of the interrelationships across project schedules and taking actions to address risks Oversight / Assurance of project progress reporting including the % complete, reported actuals, forecast AFC, Earned Value and agreed changes. Ensuring company stage gate process is effectively followed by all team members Act as the main interface with the customer ensuring high levels of satisfaction maintained  Competencies Planning and organising Leading and supervising Adhering to principles and values Adapting and responding to change Writing and reporting Experience Strong leadership & influencing skills Delivering EPC projects 10+ years experience of delivering engineering projects in a process related industry Establishment and direct management of a full multidiscipline project team Assessment and management of programmes of work Implementation and management of project controls Managing subcontractors e.g., demolition, fabrication, civil works Managing Customer interface and relationship Commercial awareness and contract management  (FIDIC / NEC) Awareness of relevant regulations/standards e.g., CDM Excellent knowledge of managing all main project phases i.e., front end, detailed design, construction & commissioning phases  Qualifications Essential - Minimum APM PMQ Desirable - APM RPP / ChPP qualification
