Position: Engineering Manager
Salary: 70,000 – 80,000 plus attractive package including paid travel, pension, private medical etc
An established Tier One Contractor is looking to attract an Engineering Manager to work on a heavy civils project of significant value (£1bn +) in West London.
The scope of works is varied and will include tunnelling, SCL, shaft sinking, bridge demolition and reconstruction, major utilities diversion and earthworks.
As Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all Ground Movement Assessments across a particular section of the project. You will also be responsible for the assessment of condition reports to manage the design, procurement and installation of mitigation measures third party assets affected by the works, in particular to rail bridges and buildings. You will also provide support to the Instrumentation and Monitoring and ground treatment, grouting and dewatering works
You will be an Independent operator, separate to the Delivery team, so that you can provide independent judgment and, if required, stop works when there is significant change to methodology, sequencing, temporary works and permanent works.
As part of a wider Engineering team, you will have opportunity to contribute into other aspects of the discipline and provide direction advice and support to the design and construction teams as appropriate.
To be successful in this position, it is anticipated that you will:
Be educated to Degree level in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
Ideally be near Chartered or Chartered with the ICE or equivalent
Have demonstrable experience in an Engineering Manager or Design Manager position on a large infrastructure project
Have demonstrable experience in the management of ground movement and I&M
Have a strong appreciation and understanding of temporary worksA full and detailed job description is avaiable on request.
