We have welcomed the third Shell Brent platform to our Able Seaton Port (ASP) in Hartlepool. We invested £28 million in constructing this new facility, including one of the strongest quays in Europe, putting us at the forefront of the growing demand for decommissioning platforms as they come to the end of their operational lives.
We’re currently looking for a Procurement Officer to join our skilled team on a full-time, fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.

As a Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for providing an effective and efficient procurement service to the company.
Reviewing purchase requisitions, negotiating contracts and building great relationships with our suppliers, you will ensure goods and services are delivered efficiently whilst logistics costs are minimised.
Specifically, you will:
- Manage, organise and update the procurement database
- Be extremely responsive to acting on requests and/or chasing information
- Resolve procurement and queries
- Assist in managing multiple sourcing projects
- Draft and negotiate supply contracts
- Assist in managing supplier performance
To join us as a Procurement Officer, you will need:
- A demonstrable track record and experience of working within a similar procurement or purchasing role
- The ability to manage multiple spend categories and suppliers
- A strong understanding of contract law
- Demonstrable competency in planning, conflict management, negotiation and teamwork
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with focus on Excel
A CIPS Level 4, or evidence of currently studying towards a CIPS Level 4, would be advantageous to your application, as would previous experience in procurement, construction, and demolition sectors.
Experience working as part of an estimating team or site-based experience would also be desirable, as would the ability to understand construction CAD drawings and plans and experience in, or an understanding of, the Civil Engineering and/or Steel Fabrication industries.
The standard working hours for this role are: 08:00 – 17:00, with an early finish (16:00) on Fridays. The hours may vary depending on the project requirements.
