About the role
You will be responsible for carrying out asbestos surveys on properties owned or managed by our client. Management and R&D surveys, re-inspections, preparing accurate survey reports, maintaining and updating the asbestos register, supervising and auditing of asbestos removal works. You will provide technical support and supervise internal and external contractors' approach to asbestos safety.
You will make sure their policies and procedures relating to all aspects of work undertaken, are adhered to at all times to ensure legal requirements and good practice are observed.
You will be responsible for carrying out asbestos Management and Refurbishment/Demolition surveys on a variety of domestic and commercial properties in line with HSG 264 and company policy. You will need to carry out periodic re-inspections of known and assumed asbestos containing materials and prepare accurate surveys/reports.
You must ensure their asbestos register is kept up to date. You will supervise licensed and non-licensed removal works being carried out by approved contractors and internal staff to ensure legislative and policy compliance.
It is essential that you are qualified in the following:
Must hold the BOHS P402 asbestos certificate or the equivalent RSPH qualification.
2 years Asbestos Surveying experience in a UKAS Accredited Consultancy
Sound knowledge of current Asbestos legislation CAR2012
Sound knowledge of HSG264 Asbestos: The Survey Guide
Working knowledge of Regulation 4 of CAR2012
It would be desirable if you had:
Possession of a BOHS P405 Asbestos certificate or show the commitment to work towards the certification.
Working knowledge of HSG247: The Licensed Contractors Guide
Working knowledge of HSG248: The analysts' Guide for Sampling, Analysis and Clearance Procedures
Understanding of Health and safety Legislation
Membership of C.I.O.B. or R.I.C.S.
