Quantity Surveyor (5+ years’ experience) Remediation / Earthworks / Heavy Civil Engineering Staffordshire £45,000 - £65,000 + package About the Company: Our privately owned client, who has regional offices throughout the UK, is a leading name within the enabling works industry with a group annual turnover in excess of £120M. Their services include asbestos removal, temporary works, demolition, remediation, earthworks and concrete works and their strong reputation for successfully finishing challenging projects has been built on delivery and trust. With a low staff turnover, this specialist subcontractor, who also operates as principle contractor on the majority of their projects, rarely recruit and this opportunity has arisen purely due to company expansion. About the opportunity: Due to healthy order books and company expansion, there is need for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the Directors in the successful commercial and financial management of projects and tenders with values up to £17M. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs with an end goal of maximising the project margin and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing future client relationships. Key responsibilities will include assisting with the setting up of sub-contract packages, placing contract orders and meeting sub – contractors on site. Furthermore, the successful individual will manage sub – contractor accounts after works commence; (viewing and evaluating payments including site measurements as necessary) and will undertake general surveying of projects as required including reviewing and pricing of variations and the preparation of valuations in conjunction with Project Managers and the Directors. About the requirements: In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must have: * A minimum of 5 years post graduate experience as a Quantity Surveyor, gained whilst working for a remediation / earthworks contractor in the UK (however general civil engineering experience will also be of high interest). * A degree in Quantity surveying, commercial manager on similar. * Working knowledge of all forms of contract - JCT and NEC forms of contract, plus bespoke forms of agreement on occasions.
