My client is a brilliant Tier 2, self-delivering groundworks & Civil Engineering contractor with a superb reputation in the North West of England. Their main focus is working on bulk earthworks, groundworks, concrete works, and demolition. They have been trading for over 50 years and have become a trusted partner with contractors such as Laing O’Rourke, Kier Plc & Balfour Beatty. The projects that they work on the range in value from £200,000 - £15M.
About the role
Due to the company winning plenty of new projects, there is a need for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the Head of Commercial, within the Civil Engineering sector of the company. You will be responsible for managing costs with the goal of making as much profit as possible for the company on the projects you’ll be working on and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing client relationships.
You will be working on 2/3 large projects at once, as well as helping the commercial team grow and managing a small team of Surveyors. The successful individual will be involved in viewing and evaluating payments and will undertake general surveying of projects as required including reviewing and pricing of variations and preparing valuations with Project Managers and the Commercial Director.
The projects will involve major earthworks, groundwork, and RC works.
No freelances will be considered.

You’ll be required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC) in a Construction, Civils, commercial management or quantity surveying or equivalent qualification.
It’s important to have experience working within groundworks, demolition, or earthworks contractors based in the UK.
You will also need a full UK driver’s license to allow to get from the office to the construction site and to other locations you might require to visit
