Spencer Clarke Group are working closely alongside Croydon Council to provide them with a Pollution Enforcement Officer on a 6 month initial contract which is likely to be extended into a longer-term contract.
This role is 36 hours per week and offers a pay rate of £18-£21 per hour. This may be negotiable dependent on experience.
As a successful Pollution Enforcement Officer, your duties will be:
To investigate service demands relating to construction site noise, air pollution, smell, and bonfires and take appropriate action as necessary.
To act as lead officer in the preparation of prosecution cases
To assist other agencies such as The Housing Department and Housing Associations when they apply in the Courts for Possession orders
Seize sound equipment from persistent noise offenders
To be responsible to the Pollution Team Manager for the scrutiny and commenting on licence applications and variations from pubs and clubs etc
To be considered, you will have the following knowledge/experience:
Thorough understanding on the legislation relating to pollution enforcement especially “Statutory nuisance”
A full understanding of the legislation and government guidelines in relation to the regulation of construction and demolition sites
Knowledge in the use of precision sound reading equipment and general principles of acoustics
An understanding of pollution and noise control techniques
