They are financially stable and own 3 offices in London and own all of their plant. The part of the group I am recruiting for has been trading for 10 years and is currently turning over £20M. They specialise within Civil Engineering & Infrastructure and subcontract for well-established contractors such as Balfour Beatty, Hochtief, and Morgan Sindall, they also work as a principal contractor for the AWE. They strive for continued growth and quality; they look to grow up to a £50M contractor over the next 5 years. They have a brilliant and experienced management team in place, a management team who have all been with the company for 10+ years. The types of works they cover involve RC structures, earthworks, groundworks, paving, demolition, landscaping, and drainage. The projects they work on a range in value from £2M - £15M. About the opportunity This is a superb, diverse and exciting opportunity for an Project Quantity Surveyor to join a growing contractor on highways, paving, landscaping, groundworks, and civil engineering projects. It sounds like a nice spread of sectors doesn’t it? Despite working within a mixture of sectors you will predominately be working on NEC contracts as well as occasionally working on JCT contracts. You will be working with some of the most respected Main Contractors within the industry, the project values will range from £1M - £15M. As well as having ongoing, continuous and thorough support from the Commercial Manager and Project Manager you will also be looking after a small team of Quantity Surveyors and Assistants, helping them grow, develop and improve. About the requirements All of their Operational and Commercial staff are degree qualified and there’s no reason for them to stop doing this is there? So, because of this, it’s vital you have a degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management or Civil Engineering. As well as being academically strong you will not be considered for this opportunity if you don’t have a stable background working within Civil Engineering (ideally for a sub-contractor). A stable background is somebody who spends on average 4 years per contractor they have worked for. Benefits and rewards Are you still reading this? If so, the successful individual will be rewarded with a brilliant basic wage ranging from £50,000 - £70,000 (this of course depends on experience) On top of a great basic salary you will also be rewarded with a full package. We all love lots of money but we both know it’s not just about the money is it? My client pride themselves on personal development and they want the successful individual to follow them on their journey of growth which will lead to promotions. About Me I am Daniel Cranston! Having been with Cityscape Recruitment for four years I’ve established and grown the Civil Engineering desk working within highways, utilities & Rail (infrastructure and maintenance). Over this time, I have built a strong selection of clients ranging from tier one main contractors through to privately owned smaller subcontractors. I cover I variety of white-collar opportunities ranging from operational, commercial, SHEQ, or pre-construction positions. What does this mean for you? I have a great understanding of the industry and what benefits each company can offer to improve your career, I will give you balanced and fair opinions on each contractor. The fact I work with such a variety of businesses means you can find out for yourself what the industry is truly like and by the end of it find yourself the best possible and tailored opportunity.
