A major civil engineering contractor are looking to appoint a permanent Project Planner for their Southern Division covering projects up to £75 million in Hampshire. The business has seen a year on year increase in turnover recently due to the major investment in infrastructure and persistent new work with retained clients and their ongoing framework agreements across the Southern counties with one-off projects up to £85 million.
They're recruiting for a newly awarded £30m project getting to ground later this year but requires immediate resource to work with the client creating a detailed deliverable programme and design. The project comprises of redeveloping a busy A-road constructing a new roundabout, creating designated bus/cycle lanes, partial demolition of a building, new signalling and associated street furniture.
The successful candidate will have a good technical background in order to hit the ground running and settle into the project team working closely with the Project Manager. Ideally you will have a minimum of HNC/HND Civil Engineering and experience of working on large highways or civils projects.
Creating and amend programmes using MS Projects
Identifying major restrictions and contract requirements
Work with pre-construction and delivery team to agree construction methodology, hours, installation and commissioning
Developing overall programmes, issuing to all relevant parties and input recommendations and amendments
Produce tender programme for additional works
Work with the commercial team to identify and raise EWN and CE's
Throughout construction work closely with the operations team to ensure the programme is maintained, updated and in accordance with the planned works
