Project Manager - Power Newport Up to £40,000 + Benefits Introduction We are currently looking to recruit a Project Manager to join an Independent Power Generation company on a site based in Newport. Your initial project will be focused on the conversion of a coal fired power station to a biomass plant. The Job Joining the Conversion Project Team, you will be responsible for… Ensuring that all related management systems, processes, policies and procedures are adhered to effectively and continuously improved Ensure that work packages are managed effectively throughout the end-to-end process (design, procurement, manufacturing, demolition, construction and commissioning) Ensure all agreements, queries, actions and deliverables from Contractors are recorded and managed Challenging, reacting to and offsetting budget overruns The Candidate. Candidates will have the following skills and experience… Degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (Masters preferred) Desirable. Formal health, safety and environmental training (desirable) Formal project management training (desirable) Experience of working within the thermal power industry directly managing EPC or Large Contracts delivery on either new build or major refurbishment projects Experience of power plant generation asset engineering and governing principles (Fuel material handling, fuel storage, combustion plant, boilers, rotating equipment, plant ancillaries and EC&I equipment) End to end Project management experience (conception, design, engineering and construction) What's on offer Basic salary up to £40,000 How to apply To apply, please call Alex Powell on (phone number removed) or send a copy of your CV to Astute Technical Recruitment Limited are acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
