This role will involve:
The examination and determination of allocated full plans applications for compliance with building regulations in accordance with office procedures including consultations with third parties.
The assessment of building control applications, dangerous structures and demolition notices on site, taking all reasonable steps, to reach a conclusion regarding compliance with building regulations without the need to refer to others, whilst ensuring service delivery and performance targets are achieved and considering health and safety risks associated with each site inspection.
Within office guidelines and policy to deal with applications for Regularisation Certificates and the issuing of a full range of completion certificates, including those allocated to others.
To investigate reports of dangerous structures and to take appropriate action, together with the proper serving of notices under either the Building Act 1984 or The Highways Act 1980.
Completing site inspections of building projects as work proceeds, considering the health and safety risks to you and site personnel. Site inspections are likely to form a high proportion of workload and decisions made on site will be binding on the service. The material effect of these decisions will have an impact on customers, the client and the general public who occupy or use these buildings in the future.
Ideally candidates will have:
* Corporate Member of the RICS, CABE or CIOB.
* Qualified to at least degree standard (or equivalent) in a construction related subject
* Evidence of continuing professional development
