About this Role:
Experienced Senior Project Manager required by this busy main contractor to take the lead for the delivery of a complex £40m scheme in Oxford. Construction works include demolition of existing building with retained façade, new build steel frame behind, new leisure and hospitality venue. Pre-construction will continue for several months under the PCSA with main works due to commence on site later this year.
Scope of work for this main contractor will include projects up to £50m in value in the secondary and higher education sector, student accommodation, mixed use, high spec residential and leisure sectors in the Oxfordshire, Berkshire and West London area.
As Senior Project Manager within the business, you will be responsible for the late second stage pre-construction and subsequent on-site delivery throughout construction to handover and end of defects period. Reporting to the Construction Director, you will be responsible for managing the client relationship throughout, management of your site team, and all construction until handover in 2024
You will lead your project team holding ultimate responsibility for client liaison, design development, construction methodology and programming of works, the smooth and timely progress of construction on site, and financial control of the project with the commercial team plus safety, quality control and delivery on time.
About the Company/Client/Project:
The client is the busy regional office of a national main contractor, with a turnover in excess of £150m in the region, with secured workload in the key sectors, and excellent pipeline of work.
Projects range in size from £25m to £50m, secured through a mixture of national frameworks, negotiated schemes with repeat clients and competitive tenders.
Requirements including certificates and qualifications:
You will ideally be an experienced Senior / Project Manager with a proven track record within a Tier 1 main contracting organisation, able to deliver design & build schemes up to £30m+ in value. Key attributes will include excellent client, design team and site team management ability, technical, contractual and commercial knowledge, plus focus and drive, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
