Our client are a major civil engineering contractor undertaking Remediation, ground-works, Drainage, Hard Landscaping, Demolition and Earthworks packages on often large scale construction projects throughout the North West region. Packages of work can typically be up to circa £5m in value. The often operate on a repeat business basis with a small number of key clients. Owing to a new and prestigious project - located slightly outside of their usual geographical remit in Wakefield, West-Yorkshire - they have a requirement to recruit an experienced Ground-works Site Manager. The successful applicants will have at least 5 years experience as a Manager/Agent and given this projects complexities you'll need experience in deep drainage, attenuation tanks, foundation pile caps, service yard slabs and associated services. As Site Manager, working under a Construction Manager and Senior Project Manager you'll: Plan and organise labour and plant on site Maintain Quality Control Control costs and monitor weekly Have a working knowledge of MS Project, maintain and update contract programmes Be IT literate and able to operate Word, Excel electronic documentation Ensure all resources are used efficiently on site Maintain high safety standards Keep records and maintain electronic filing system Ensure the site is a safe and tidy place to work and visit Manage and reduce waste Project a professional image and lead by example Have the ability to work as part of a team and maintain client relationsThe following qualifications/competencies are required: Valid CSCS card SMSTS qualified Competent in Health and Safety practice A good knowledge of Environmental Management Experienced in a variety of Civil Engineering disciplines. First aid at work qualified Current valid driving license
