Job Description

We have a new opportunity for a Firewatcher for our client based in Greenock, near Glasgow who are committed to the safe decontamination, dismantling, and decommissioning of marine vessels.    This is a long-term ongoing position with a view to become permanent.    The successful candidate will be individual responsible to the Topman Supervisor for the delivery of all general labouring duties and fire watching during all flame cutting activities during the destruct of any given vessel or offshore structure in accordance with all demolition safe methods of work and schedules.    Duties: Report and record all breaches of health and safety on site and stop the job if necessary. Use hand / power tools & heavy machinery to prepare the section of vessel to be removed by the Topman Burners Carry out firefighting duties during flame cutting activities Ensure sufficient firefighting equipment is always available at the work area Perform inspections / maintenance on all flame cutting equipment & assess safety hazards and structural stability Dis/Assemble flame cutting equipment relevant to the work location       Requirements – as a minimum: CSCS / Labourer (Green Card) / Demolition Labourer / Green Card – NVQ Level 1 / Fire Awareness Demolition experience Ability to stand, walk and / or carry for extended periods       If you feel you have the relevant experience and are looking for a new challenge, please apply
