Job Title Mechanical Engineer Employment Type Permanent Location Warrington Job Description In this position you will provide mechanical engineering support for capital projects and complex repairs from concept to completion, including cost estimates, design, procurement, construction oversight, start-up assistance, and documentation. Job Responsibilities The following responsibilities are associated with this job role but are not limited to: Be the engineering team specialist for mechanical plant equipment supporting complex repairs and maintenance efforts of the plant equipment (vessels, rotating equipment, exchangers, etc) and piping. Provide project support for mechanical work packages by ensuring quality standards have been fulfilled and documentation is complete. Ensure the plant maintains accurate and effective documentation for mechanical and piping systems. Support plant outages by working with the maintenance, engineering, and production teams to ensure equipment shut down, maintenance, installation, demolition, and start-up is properly planned and executed. Support training activities for production, maintenance, and technical personnel on an as needed basis to ensure compliance with national guidelines and regulations.                Integrate with and create teams including, but not limited to, safety program progress, root cause failure analysis and operational stewardship. Engineer must be able to perform as a team member and leader.  Qualifications and Desired Skills Bachelor’s Degree – Mechanical Engineering or relevant degree and experience Experience with chemical manufacturing and mechanical systems including vessels and piping. This should include experience in project execution as well as providing maintenance support to production operations. Experience working in a COMAH/High Hazard site is preferred Extensive theoretical and applied knowledge of mechanical engineering principles applied in a manufacturing facility. Experience of specifying equipment in use with high hazard process streams following all correct regulations (ex. PSSR, PED) The ability to manage and organize time, interact with people from all levels of the organization and capable of sustaining a drive for excellence. Ability to communicate clearly by written and verbal reporting and possess above average fluency with technical software. Attention to detail should be an ingrained behaviour.
