Contracts Manager - RC Frame & Groundwork Contractor - North London
£110,000 - £130,000 yearly
N1, St. Peter's, Greater London
RC Frame & Groundwork Subcontractor
North London office with projects in and around the M25
£110,000 - £130,000 + Benefits
About the Opportunity:
I am looking for either a senior project manager who is ready to step up, or an existing contracts manager, from a rival reinforced concrete frame and groundwork subcontractor in and around London.
This opportunity is immediately available for the right individual and is to support a growing business who currently turnover around £50 million per annum, but have order books already looking to exceed that for the financial year coming.
Your role will be to support the onsite project managers, be the point of contact for the clients across 4-5 projects at any one time, while also assisting at precon stages with work coming through. You’ll report directly to the managing director of the business and will have the autonomy to manage your own contracts to get the best results. As with all contracts management positions in this field, the crucial factors are maintaining safety, keeping projects to programme and budget while also developing relationships with clients that lead to further work. Simple!
About the Employer:
Based in North London this business is going from strength to strength. As mentioned above they currently turnover around £50 million per annum but this is growing at a steady rate each year. They have work in and around London with a good mixture of reputable main contractors and developers and are currently working on packages ranging from £1 million up to around £15 million each. All their work includes reinforced concrete frames, basements or groundworks for commercial or residential schemes and as a whole, I see this business as a modern enterprise with strong client relationships, even stronger ties with in the team and a great future ahead of them.
I’ve known the MD of this business going back to 2008 and he’s one hell of a nice guy. They operate as a team with a close-knit environment where everyone works together towards the common goals. Anyone who was to join this business would feel that support and comradery around them and with growth, comes opportunities for the future, so career progression is definitely available for contracts managers looking to progress with time towards directorship.
About the Requirements:
Based on my client’s criteria, I have listed some points below. I can only consider people who can tick each of these boxes:
1. All applicants must have worked for a rival reinforced concrete frame and groundwork subcontractor as either a project manager or contracts manager to be considered.
2. I need someone who is organised, technically minded and can show a proven history of delivering concrete frame and groundwork packages up to / around £10m in value.
3. Due to my clients desires to take someone on for the long term, I have been asked to only put forward people who have stable working history, so unfortunately, I can’t consider people who have moved businesses every year.
Other than that, I am open to talking to anyone who feels this may be right for them.
About the Remuneration:
As with most of the positions I recruit for, salary is dependent on experience, but I am expecting to consider individuals who are currently earning or looking to earn anywhere from £110,000 to £130,000 per annum (self-employed or PAYE). If you meet the criteria I have listed for previous experience, this ball park area should be expected. Additional benefits such as car allowance, pension and bonuses can be discussed at the point of interview.
How to Apply:
I am more than happy to discuss this opportunity with people over the phone or face to face in a fully confidential manner. This is an incestuous sector and I fully understand the importance of keeping things discrete.
Alternatively, it would be ideal to see a copy of your CV to understand your previous experience and employment. In line with GDPR, nothing will be done with your CV / details until we have discussed the role in detail anyway, but having gained an understanding of your formal past, this may help when we come to talk and discuss the option.
Either way, my contact details are listed below:
