You will have a background in a heavy industrial production environment such as waste management, metal recycling, demolition, quarrying and earthworks.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Champion and promote a positive safety culture within the business that focuses on teamwork and continual improvement
Manage near miss reporting and RIDDOR's
Monitor SHEQ performance indicators for all sites, staff and sub-contractors
Coordinate and control all SHEQ documentations
Roll out inductions for all staff and sub-contractors
Ensure company insurance and policies are up to date and insurers are aware of any changes
Maintain the COSHH assessment register and provide updates to managers as necessary
Contact with external professional advisors, partner organizations, contractors and statutory authorities such as the HSE and Environment Agency as required
Roll out new systems and processes across the business including overseeing the implementation of ISOs within the business
To carry out internal quality audits to the agreed business objectives, report and monitor corrective actions
Booking of all company external training courses, raising the necessary internal paperwork and ensuring authorisation is sought from senior management
The recovery of CITB and related grants and development of annual training plans
Issuing training certificates and maintaining electronic database
Applying for CSCS cards and H&S tests as per procedures and adding information to the CSCS records
Assessing individuals training records for the purposed of CPCS Plant Operators schemes
Manage safety award submissions i.e RoSPA
Collaborate with Marketing and HR to prepare SHEQ documentation
Maintain business management systems, promoting consistency, continued relevance and accuracy
Communicate management system updates to the business
Collate H&S and quality data to support improvement plans
Update scorecards and improvement plans for communication to the business
Manage PPE requirements
Skills & Qualifications;
NEBOSH
ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001 Auditor would be beneficial but not essential
IOSH Managing Safely
Full Driving Licence to allow you to commute between sites
Additional tickets/vocational qualifications would be advantageous to your application
Personal Qualities;
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence change
Ability to challenge and resolve problems to conclusion
Demonstrate the right behaviours and assist in developing a culture that is in line with company values
Ability to demonstrate and achieve high standards of compliance
Demonstrate ability to plan, organise and complete tasks in certain timescales
Internal auditing skills and associated reporting
Required Experience;
Hands on experience of ISO 9001, 14001 and 18001
Proven ability overseeing internal management systems
You will have worked in a similar capacity for at least 3 years
Experience of CHAS, Achilles, Constructionline and other construction accreditation bodies would be an advantage but not essential
